Terms & Conditions
Welcome to MaxOut Tutoring. Our aim is to help every student make progress and work towards their learning goals. Good results come from everyone playing their part, so we ask students, parents and tutors to communicate openly and follow the guidelines below. If you have particular expectations or a main goal for your child, please let us know at the start of our working relationship.
1. About MaxOut Tutoring
At MaxOut Tutoring, we focus on helping students work towards their goals. Every student has different needs, and we encourage parents to tell us what they would like their child to achieve from the outset. This helps us understand your priorities and work together towards the progress you want to see.
2. Tutoring Services
Private tuition is a team effort involving the tutor, student and parents. Where appropriate, the student’s class teacher may also be involved.
Students should tell their tutor about upcoming tests as early as possible and provide a copy of their school’s scheme of learning. This helps the tutor understand what is being covered in class and plan lessons accordingly.
3. Bookings and Lesson Timings
Lessons are expected to take place every week. Students should arrive on time, as tutors often have lessons scheduled one after another. If a student arrives late, the lesson may still need to finish at its scheduled time.
If you cannot attend a lesson, please let the tutor know as soon as possible. There may be an opportunity to arrange another lesson during the same week. Sundays are usually available, and families are welcome to contact the tutor to ask about other days and times. Any alternative arrangement will depend on availability.
4. Payments and Fees
Tuition fees must be paid four weeks in advance. If payments are repeatedly late, families may be asked to pay for additional weeks upfront.
5. Cancellation and Non-Attendance
Missed lessons remain chargeable unless the child is ill. If illness is reported repeatedly beyond what would reasonably be expected, missed lessons may become chargeable if medical evidence is not provided.
Please inform the tutor as early as possible if your child cannot attend a scheduled lesson. Regular attendance is important for steady progress. If attendance becomes a persistent concern, MaxOut Tutoring may review the ongoing tutoring arrangement.
6. Student Responsibilities
Students are expected to take an active role in their learning and come prepared for each lesson.
Please ensure your child:
- Arrives on time for every lesson.
- Brings the correct equipment.
- Completes all work in a designated exercise book.
- Keeps their mobile phone away during lessons, as phones are not permitted.
- Tells the tutor about upcoming school tests as early as possible.
- Shares the school’s scheme of learning with the tutor.
Homework will be set regularly to help students practise what they have learnt and address differences in the learning support provided by their schools. If you would prefer your child not to receive homework, please make this clear at the beginning of the arrangement.
7. Behaviour During Lessons
Private tuition should provide a focused environment where students can learn without unnecessary distractions. If a student displays a poor attitude or behaviour during a lesson, parents will be informed at the earliest opportunity.
We encourage parents and students to maintain open communication with the tutor so that any concerns can be discussed and addressed.
8. Support Outside Lesson Time
We understand that some students and families may need additional help between lessons. MaxOut Tutoring is happy to offer reasonable support where possible, but there is a limit to the amount of additional time that can be provided free of charge.
If a family requires substantial support outside the agreed tutoring arrangement, an additional charge may apply. We will inform you of any such charge in advance.
9. Referral Reward
We appreciate recommendations from families who are happy with our service. If you refer another customer who goes on to use MaxOut Tutoring for at least two months, you will receive a £25 Amazon voucher.
10. Communication and Learning Goals
We want our customers to be happy with the service and see their children make progress. If there is a particular goal you would like your child to achieve, please share it with us at the beginning of the tutoring arrangement.
Regular, open communication helps us understand your expectations, discuss progress and work together towards the best possible outcomes for your child.
Many of our students continue with us for a long time, and their younger siblings sometimes join too. We value the trust families place in us and aim to build positive, long-term working relationships.
11. Limitation of Liability
The supplied terms have no separate section on liability limits or exclusions. What they do cover is what’s expected around attendance, punctuality, preparation, behaviour and payment, all of which help lessons run as smoothly as possible.
12. Changes to These Terms
The original document doesn’t explain how these Terms & Conditions could be changed or how families would hear about updates. There’s no formal process for making changes.
13. Governing Law
The supplied Terms & Conditions don’t say which country’s laws apply or how legal disputes would be handled. The original document doesn’t include these details.
